Since the very beginning, DISPATCH has been a band that has stood up and rallied its fans behind causes that challenge the status quo. From playing a free show for file-sharing activists that gathered in Washington, D.C. to protest when Napster first came under attack by Congress in 2001…. to supporting organizations that provide relief for children in the darkest corners of our world… the guys have always found a powerful way to integrate a message with their music.

When DISPATCH reunited for three SOLD OUT shows at Madison Square Garden in 2007, they did it with a sense of purpose: to raise awareness and provide humanitarian relief for the people of Zimbabwe. Then, when Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai of Zimbabwe planned his first diplomatic visit to the United States in 2009, he asked Brad, Chad & Pete to play an acoustic performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

So when the guys decided to hit the road last summer on their first U.S. Tour in nearly a decade, they chose to focus on America’s education crisis. For too long, a child’s zip code has defined their educational destiny. Through DISPATCH’s multi-faceted and collaborative Amplifying Education campaign, band members and fans alike are discovering together how small actions can make a big difference in the lives of children across the country.

Over the last year, DISPATCH’s Amplifying Education campaign has:

- engaged over 600 fan volunteers in nearly 4,000 hours of service to improve schools across North America and Europe;

- collected over 10,000 book donations to support local literacy programs through Better World Books; and

- raised over $250,000 through a portion of ticket sales, benefit shows, and fan-to-fan outreach shows to support local organizations like City Year Denver, Teach for America, and The Waterside School.

Amplifying Education is back for the "Circles Around the Sun" Fall 2012 Tour! Bring books to donate to the book drive with Better World Books… $1 from every ticket sold goes directly to support local education initiatives… and keep your eyes peeled for opportunities to roll up your sleeves and serve alongside Brad, Chad, Pete, and other DISPATCH fans when the tour rolls into your town!
